How to Set Radio Stations on a Pioneer VSX-305 Audio-Video Receiver

I recently bought a used Pioneer VSX-305 Audio\Video Receiver.
I did not receive an owner's manual with it and, as it is 10 years old, I couldn't seem to find any info online on how to program the radio station presets.
After experimenting with it for a while I finally figured out how to do it.

I decided to put the info here in this web page for two reasons:

1.) I may forget how to do it and I want to be able to look here when I need to do it again sometime in the future.

2.) Someone else may be looking for this info, and may stumble on this page and save themselves some trouble.

The system uses three "Classes" of channels. Each 'Class' is a bank of 10 channel presets. This same feature is often called a 'Band' of channels in other radios, but then they are usually limited to all AM or all FM per 'Band'.

In this unit, the stations preset in each 'Class' can be AM or FM stations intermixed. So you get a total of 30 presets with no limitation on how many you use for AM and how many you use for FM.

To preset a new channel, first determine which 'Class' (1, 2, or 3) you want to put it in and which of the 10 channels you want to use in that 'Class'. If you only listen to 10 or less channels you can just put them all in 'Class' 1 and forget about the other 2.

There are 5 steps:

1.) Use the FM/AM button to select the type of station you are going to tune.

2.) Use the Tuning + and - buttons to tune in the desired station.

3.) Press the Memory button.

4.) Use Class button to select the desired class to store the station in (the Class indicator will be flashing on the display, if the Class indicator already shows the right 'Class' you don't have to push this button).

5.) Use the Station + and - buttons to select the desired Channel Number within the selected Class (The Ch indicator will be flashing in the display).

When the indicators stop flashing you are done and the station has been added to the presets.
